Proudly Malaysian… from Malaysia to the world is the spirit behind Digital Durian.
The two founders, young entrepreneurs (and high-school classmates), Sinan Ismail and Hairul Faizal Izwan were a few years out of university when they started Digital Durian in 2009.
Entrepreneurship journey – Finding a niche
Digital Durian’s humble beginnings saw the duo exploring various business activities – animation and 3D modelling for oil and gas videos and e-learning modules to wedding premiums and videography. The first five years saw business fluctuating – at one point moving to bigger premises and growing the Digital Durian team, at another point, being forced to downscale and almost call it quits. Throughout this journey, their entrepreneurship spirit was never broken. An undimmable burning passion for animation led them to create several cartoon characters based on the Malaysian Serama chicken – a breed of small chicken also known as pygmy or pretty chicken. In May 2014, the famous characters Didi, Nana and Jojo were introduced to the world and the rest is history.
